Sri Lanka Tea Board in deal to increase exports to Turkey

ECONOMYNEXT –  Sri Lanka is to enter into an agreement on agricultural cooperation with Turkey, one of the main markets for the island’s tea exports, with the Tea Board seeking a deal to increase shipments.

The Cabinet of Ministers this week approved a proposal by Agriculture Minister Duminda Dissanayake to sign a memorandum of understanding on agricultural cooperation between Sri Lanka and Turkey, the state information office said.

The Cabinet took into consideration plans by the Sri Lanka Tea Board for a special agreement to increase tea exports to Turkey.
