Daily FT: 1990 Emergency Ambulance Service to be expanded

Deputy Minister of Development Policies and Economic Affairs Dr. Harsha De Silva yesterday disclosed that the Emergency Ambulance Service ‘1990’ will be expanded by 200 more units.

The service, which has catered to thousands of patients, was launched with the support of the Indian Government.

The Deputy Minister said the service would be expanded countrywide by the end of this year. He said the Emergency Ambulance Service has helped over 51,000 sick people to get to the hospital in time.
